Our History

The World of Collections journey began in 1986. Originally a mail order business, the first store was opened by Walter Strazzara in the Greenlake area and grew from there. A second store was opened in Shoreline in 1992 when John Strazzara had joined the business. Later in 1992, Jeff Goldsmith also joined the team. By listening to our customers our business has been able to grow and diversify. First with comic books and then non sports cards, like Marvel trading cards. The Customizable Card game market really took us to the next step, first with Magic the Gathering and then Star Trek, Star Wars, Pokémon and then Yu-Gi-Oh. Board games and Dungeons & Dragons followed afterwards. When Kevin Mayo joined the team his enthusiasm for games helped us grow our CCG's and board game selection. We have grown and gone to different locations over the years but have kept the ideal that you treat your customer the way you would want to be treated.
